Since it’s incorporation in 1983, T.A. Cole & Sons, General Contractors, Inc. has been dedicated to providing the highest quality and best value in commercial construction and remodeling services throughout Albuquerque and across the state of New Mexico. Our portfolio is vast and varied, covering commercial construction services from new construction to renovations and additions in both the public and the private sectors.

In 1983, T.A. Cole & Son, General Contractors, Inc. was opened by T.A. Cole Jr. and his son, T.A. “Skip” Cole III. Through many changes in those 33 years, T.A. Cole & Sons has remained a pillar of the Albuquerque community and has contributed to the local economy in countless ways.

Meet the Team

  • T.A. “Skip” Cole III – CEO/QC-QA-Quality Control Manager/CM-Contract Manager:
    Skip attended Clovis High School, West Mesa High School, and the University of New Mexico. His training and education at UNM included majors in Architecture, Business, and Economics. Additionally, he has pursued and continues to pursue opportunities for continuing education in necessary skills and techniques in order to grow and develop both himself and his corporation. As the dynamics in the construction industry are changing, Skip continues to remain informed and trained in order to allow those changes to improve the position and reputation of TA Cole & Sons General Contractors, Inc. Skip is the CEO and President of TA Cole and Sons and has been actively working as a hands-on owner since 1983.  He has well over 40 years of experience in construction, and his knowledge and experience span all levels of construction from marketing to estimating, from contract to close-out, from groundbreaking to turnkey, from warranty to maintenance. As the owner, he is deeply invested in and dedicated to the success of each project at every level.  He has had well over 100 projects with APS alone.
  • Brandon Weems – Quality Control and Assurance/Safety Manager:
    Brandon has extensive experience in project management spanning a variety of industries and brings a unique and valuable perspective to our team as a result of his education and training. He holds an associate’s degree in Applied Sciences from CNM, a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from New Mexico Tech University, and several Computer Aided Design certificates, all of which bring added dimension and competency to our team. With more than 5 years of experience with our team, Brandon is being trained as a Project Manager while filling the role of Quality Assurance Officer and Site Safety Manager. He takes on the responsibility of spearheading the submittal process as well as overseeing the installations of approved materials, workmanship, and final closeout of our contracts. In his former employment, he received extensive training in construction estimating, sales, drafting, mining, quality control, materials testing, surveying, construction safety, and project management, making him well qualified and capable of performing his role on this project as well as supporting our Project Manager, and Superintendent in addition to our other key personnel. As our safety manager, Brandon has received his OSHA 30 certification and completes ongoing training as necessary in order to guarantee the safety of our jobsites and finished projects.
  • Becky Archuleta – Office Administrator:
    Becky has been an integral part of the TA Cole and Sons team for many years and is our “go to” person, managing our books, accounting, publishing, record keeping, logs, submittals, and all other office and field support that is required to keep a management system flowing smoothly.  In her role as Office Administrator she provides assistance to Antonio and our field superintendents. Her role in the company is invaluable, and her knowledge of each project keeps everyone on track and on target.
  • Anna Cole – Safety Program Director/HR/CFO:
    Anna has worked with TA Cole and Sons since 1983 on either a part or full-time basis.  Prior to and during her employment with TAC, she also trained in the medical field, obtaining her EMT license. Additionally she has obtained training in Management, Business, and Human Resources.  She is continuing to pursue training in all areas of Construction, especially those relating to safety, manpower, human resourcing, and marketing. Anna is our main liaison with Safety Counselling Inc. and works closely with Brock Carter as well as the PM, QM, superintendent, and subcontractors on each project in order to ensure that each job site is safe for all employees, occupants, the surrounding community, and visitors. Anna also records, monitors, and maintains the financial aspects of the organization.
  • Shayla Moss – Assistant Document and Procurement Manager:
    Shayla has joined our team to assist in managing the flow and direction of important project documentation and records assembly. She facilitates the flow and distribution of material submittals and LEED documentation. She is also working to improve and maintain our web site information. A graduate of Pepperdine University, she brings added dimensions to our organization. Her work in assisting with document and records tracking allows our projects to run as smoothly and efficiently as possible. Additionally, Shayla is OSHA30 certified.
  • Jim Miller – Superintendent:
    Jim Miller has worked as a superintendent on countless APS projects for TA Cole including new schools, remodels and additions. His 35+ years of experience in the Construction Industry have proven to be a true asset to each project, ensuring coordination with the entire team and providing the highest quality project.  He has completed LEED Gold and Silver projects for APS at Truman Middle School, Adobe Acres Elementary and Comanche Elementary School. Other major APS projects include West Mesa High School’s Mustang Academy, Carlos Rey Kindergarten and Classroom Addition, Zuni Elementary School addition, Painted Sky Elementary Gym and Classroom construction, Sierra Vista Elementary School Kindergarten and Gym addition, Eugene Field Elementary addition and many more.   He has a history of great public relations, having his projects completed on time, within budget, and with little confusion.  Jim takes pride in his attention to the safety and security of every project, which is invaluable when working around students, staff, and occupied public places.
  • Steve Lopez – Superintendent:
    Steve has been with TA Cole & Sons since 2012, and has been a superintendent in the construction industry since 2002. He prides himself on quality control and quality assurance. With a large background in school campus construction and remodeling, Steve has a deep understanding of and commitment to project safety, for workers as well as for the public in the area. He is a team player, who works hard and is a big asset to our team.
  • Daniel Feliciano – Superintendent:
    Daniel has been a key player at T.A. Cole & Sons General Contractors, Inc., since starting work in 2014. During his time with T.A. Cole, Daniel has moved from a lead carpenter/finisher role into the superintendent position through hard work and dedication. Daniel is consistent in his attention to details through plan review and specification understanding, which keeps his projects on time, on budget and in scope.  Daniel has worked on many projects including several schools for APS, which received Gold LEED certifications, most recently on Ventana Ranch ES Addition.  Daniel took this project over when the acting superintendent left the company for other opportunities.  Daniel was able to take the lead and complete the project with no issues.  Prior to his coming to T.A. Cole, Daniel worked with other G.C.’s honing his skills as a concrete finisher, site foreman and finish carpenter.  Daniel carries an OSHA 30 certification and keeps his jobs safe through the continual renewing of minds via the OSHA 1926 manual.  Safety is a big deal for T.A. Cole and Daniel continues to research and implement the safety culture we demand in order to bring all our crew members safely home after each day of work.
